 MOLD SERVICES
An
environmental
remediation
plan
must
be
used
for
all
removal
of
toxic
and
black
mold
issues.
The
following
is
an
overview
of
a
general
environmental
remediation
plan.
As
each
situation
is
different,
a
written
specific
environmental
remediation
plan
will
be
developed
and
followed
for
your
individual
environmental
problems.
1.
Test
for
the
toxic
issues
by
tape
lifts
and
Air-O-Cell
cassettes.
Identification
of
mold
and
mildew
can
done
by
microscope
on
site
and
the
spore
count
by
certified
laboratory
testing.
2.
Test
for
humidity
with
moisture
meter.
3.
Locate
the
source
of
the
moisture
or
leaking
and
make
repairs
as
necessary.
4.
Remove
all
wet
carpeting,
wet
ceiling
tiles,
damaged
wood,
damaged
articles,
wet
materials,
and
correctly
dispose
of
them
to
local
compliance
standards.
5.
Consultants
will
open
walls,
ceilings,
and
floors
only
if
absolutely
necessary
to
aerate
and
treat.
6.
Use
moisture-testing
meters
to
locate
the
perimeter
of
the
leaking
areas
and
tape
the
boundaries.
Percussion
testing
can
also
be
used.
7.
Use
dehumidifiers
in
the
wet
areas
overnight.
8.
Use
strong
bacterial
Germicidal
Foggers
along
with
short
wave
ultra
violet
lights
to
kill
mold
spores.
9.
Use
Negative
Air
units
to
keep
the
mold
spores
in
suspension
and
vent
outside
of
the
house.
10.
Run
the
suspended
mold
spores
through
HEPA
air
cleaner
units.
11.
Remove
the
mold
spores
via
a
wrinkle
belly
hose
from
the
house,
but
do
not
vent
near
the
outside
air
intakes.
12.
The
use
of
high
output
Ozone
Generators
can
be
considered
for
odor
control.
13.
After
remediation
is
completed,
the
remediated
treated
areas
must
pass
an
Environmental
Clearance
Testing
to
the
indoor
air
quality
(IAQ)
standards,
to
avoid
litigation.
After
a
successful
Clearance
Testing,
an
Environmental
Clearance
Report
will
be
provided
to
the
client.
